6 Stress Reliever DO’s and DON’TS!

I struggle with STRESS on a daily basis.  My worries go beyond everyday life; things that are happening, haven’t happened, and may never happen consume me when I do not have enough distractions and times are tough.  Many people, who clearly do not suffer from stress the way I do, ask me “How could you be so stressed out?  You have a beautiful son, you shouldn’t be so consumed!”  And yes, that is so true.  I have an absolutely beautiful, amazing little boy who I love with all of my heart…so why am I so stressed?  These comments lead me feeling negative about myself and questioning my parenting skills. Not cool.  Although I have read a variety of tricks to help me…

Looking for “Happily Ever After” in all the Wrong Places.

And They All Lived Happily Ever After….. We are all familiar with this famous tagline; the one at the end, where everyone is joyful and life is absolutely perfect. While some put shame to “happily ever after” and believe it is solely for children’s books, some have a less harsh approach and believe Happily Ever After will happen for all who actively seek it.   Books and movies are always creating wonderful stories about heroes, villains, and happily ever afters.  As children, and even adults, we may develop a strong connection to these stories and their takeaway messages.  Believe in yourself, never give up, and be amazing.  Find your Happily Ever After!! But, when does the search for happily ever after become too much?  When…

Pet Treat/Small Business Do’s & Don’ts: Learn From My Mistakes!

Almost a year ago I decided to start my own pet treat business. I had so many great ideas, was so excited, and envisioned it being an absolute success. But, it did not really pan out the way I imagined.   It is coming to that time of registration renewal and continuing as I am, making some serious changes, or cutting my losses. I hate the idea of “quitting” considering how much I put into it. I hate wasting time so I tend to keep doing things, even if they do not work. But, doing something you KNOW doesn’t work is much worse than trying, failing, learning from it, and just moving on. In reality, I put more money into it than actual effort, so…

Our Wedding: Every Step of the Way!

Throughout my wedding planning, I was constantly seeking ideas and advice from fellow brides on blogs and Pinterest. I figured I would detail my wedding story, as thoroughly as possible, to provide some ideas for any lovely brides-to-be searching for some inspiration! I also wanted to give some credit to the vendors that did such an amazing job with our special day! I hope you enjoy! After our exciting engagement, I immediately began brainstorming potential dates. A Saturday, in September, was our first choice due to the lovely weather and the desire to accommodate travelers. I envisioned breathing in crisp, fall air with beautiful foliage decorating the background, but I was very nervous the year would end up finishing early; plus those dates…

Hating SeaWorld

Ever since my first visit to SeaWorld, at about five years old, I never wanted to do anything else besides work with marine mammals. Although being an orca trainer was at the top of my list, I was happy in any area; training, research, conservation, education, etc…it didn’t matter. I learned as much as possible; books, internet, zoos, marine mammal interactions, you name it. It was all part of the bigger plan. I volunteered at animal shelters, worked at a doggie daycare, and eventually landed some amazing marine mammal volunteering and internship positions. Everything about marine mammals amazed me and I wanted to spend as much time as I could learning more and more! Although life got in the…
