Absolutely Adorable Baby Photos

*Warning- Severe Cuteness Overload Up Ahead!  🙂 While pregnant with my son, we had maternity photos of my large baby bump taken; they came out beautiful.  We used Megan Ashley Photography, in Portland, ME and we were so happy with the results.   We did the photos just in time! My son ended up arriving three weeks early and unfortunately we never got around to doing newborn photos; I still regret it.  We did, however, do six month baby photos that came out absolutely adorable!  Shannon Foster Photography, in Raleigh, NC did his photos; I love them so much! The bookworm photo, below,  is my absolute favorite!!   Well, this time around I absolutely plan on doing maternity and newborn photos.  And, after seeing these newborn Disney…

Yes, Moms, its OK to Relax!

Let’s just start by saying today was a horrible day. Completely wretched.  It seemed nothing could stop being stressful and irritating as hell. So……end of the day hits; I am out the door and off to pick up Munchkin.   I am still annoyed to the max, but the reminder it was a TGIF kind of day was sinking in more and more and I was starting to relax.  Now, come Fridays….I am exhausted.  Besides the fact I work all week, I also make dog treats part time and get all my housework done during the week.  I refuse to spend both my days off folding laundry and scrubbing toilets.  Mr. H also works lots of nights, so dinner and bed time is…

My child’s temper tantrum is NOT life ruining!

I think it is interesting how strange people look at me when I am out and about with just my toddler; like they couldn’t imagine doing something that “HARD”.  I have heard “wow, you are brave”, “that’s why I keep mine at home”, and many other comments from parents and non-parents as to why they think I am this crazy person for being alone with my toddler in a public place.  Oh, and don’t forget about planes.  Seriously…what is it with people and their rage with young children crying on planes?  I mean; I do understand why it can suck.  You just boarded your plane, your slightly exhausted because you were up before the roosters to make the flight, and…

Beach Ball Birthday Party!

Choosing a birthday party theme for young kids is always exciting!  For my son’s third birthday party, we decided on the beach ball birthday party!  I made my first fancy cake for him shaped like a beach ball and I was lucky enough to find great decorations at the dollar store too!  It was a great day!!  And, I wanted to share my ideas with anyone else looking for some birthday party inspiration 🙂   *Drive way lined with pinwheels   *I incorporated as many beach ball colors as possible.  I made the silverware roll ups and used orange and green ribbon to tie them together.  In the green pail are cheese balls.  Unfortunately, it sprinkled throughout the day so we had to move…

How I Will Celebrate My Memorial Day

I came across this picture on Facebook the other day as I as scrolling through my news feed; it made me so sad.  And, it made me feel horrible for planning something fun with my family this Memorial Day weekend.  Who was I to wish for time to BBQ when there were countless children who have lost parents and parents who have lost children.  My plans seemed so insignificant and selfish.  But, my desire to engage in family fun this weekend doesn’t change how I feel about the holiday.  I will always respect the heroes who gave their lives so others could have their freedom;  I admire their selfless bravery to the fullest.  The stomping of the flag makes me sad and ashamed…
